Nana Magomola

A seasoned, multi-faceted and versatile business leader, lawyer and social entrepreneur who has held numerous corporate leadership positions in the Private and Public Sector both in South African and U.S. companies. Nana carved her corporate career at two of America’s largest pharmaceutical companies, i.e., Johnson & Johnson as well as Merck Sharpe and Dohme (MSD) Pharmaceuticals and later at Reebok where she served as a director. She is currently non-executive Chairperson of GIBB Engineering as well as the Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund where she has served for over twenty years. Her past positions include appointments as Director- General in government and an Executive at ESKOM where she held a Senior Position in Human Resource Development for nine years. In this position, she created and led an independent Training Unit whose responsibility was to provide executive development training for selected C Suite executives for all state entities within the portfolio of the Department of Public Enterprises. Her previous board positions include Transnet, the Industrial Development Corporation and S.A. Weather Services which she also chaired.

Ms. Magomola’s lifetime contributions have been crowned with several awards including Global Director and Chair of the International Women’s Forum (IWF); Founder and Honorary member of the Businesswomen’s Association (BWA); as well as one of Ten “Women who make a Difference” Award from the IWF. Her appointment by the late President Mandela as Trustee of his Children’s Fund in 2001 is her most prized accomplishment.
